Reworking the entire first floor of this home gave this busy family increased functionality, more storage space, and better flow for entertaining family and friends. Many of the design details such as the rich, historic color palette and the millwork profiles were inspired by the home’s American Colonial architecture. To keep things fresh, we incorporated a number of modern details as well. The result is both modern and classic all in one, a recipe for enduring style.

The homeowners’ request was to have their newly acquired, French-style home feel as though many generations had passed through its doors. Each room has a distinct personality but harmonizes with adjacent rooms through the use of color, pattern, and material. The result is a collected, eclectic mix of periods, styles, and moods perfect for family living and entertaining.

After a fresh remodel, this home was a blank slate and I was called to add in color and personality with a focus on durability. A mix of performance materials paired with custom details, ensures this home is as functional as it is beautiful. A classic floral chintz established the color palette and served as the perfect foil to the modern and contemporary pieces found throughout the home.
